Captive Fox

One day we set a Have-a-Heart trap to catch a visiting raccoon who was interested in my pet geese, and to our surprise the next morning we had caught a red fox. I said to him, “I will let you go in a minute if you will pose for me.” I gathered my art supplies and did a quick study of him, then I opened the trap, and after a quick look back at me he went off into the wild.
